Haleh Nematzadeh

Haleh Nematzadeh is one of the most innovative, inspiring and creative designers right now – and after Fashionable Earth had a chance to chat with her recently in New York – we found out she is very sweet and kind as well!

HALEH

All of Haleh’s most memorable moments have to do with clothes – starting with her first creation – a lilac tulle dress she designed for her Bat Mitzvah.  Since then her taste has refined, but she has still remained edgy and cool :) Her Spring/Summer 2010 collection is all about the ’80’s dance hall craze, and the outfits can be worn from day to night.

It is important for Haleh to design “key pieces that give life to a wardrobe” and which can complement any outfit.  She accomplishes this by using innovative fabrics and re-envisioning pieces everyone should own and keep forever, such as a boyfriend blazer, motorcycle jacket, or a gorgeous gown.  Haleh researched on the glowing material developed for the shipping industry and created her own glow-in-the-dark fabric!  Our favorites included these glow-in-the-dark pieces, in addition to the “love is a wave” skirt and “stevie top”.  All her clothing gives off a positive message, and is innovative and fresh while still remaining modern.  Keep up the great work, Haleh!
